How is organic lamb different from regular lamb?
Ask your mother or grandmother to taste it. It will taste like they remember real lamb tasted when they where a kid - without antibiotics, pesticides, and herbicides, growth hormones etc. Tender and juicy and tasty!
Why is it better?
It's fresh frozen and delivered at once. Store bought is not organic. Sometimes it is called 'natural' but there is no legal definition of what 'natural' means so beware.
What is Organic?
According to the Canadian national organic regulations that we adhere to, animals sold as organic must be raised on organically grown feed. The land has to be free of any synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, herbicides or other chemicals for at least three years before the pasture or any crops produced on it can be certified as organic. The organic feed we give our sheep is prohibited from containing any transonic (ie. G.M.O.) feedstuffs or animal by-products.
SELDOM SEEN/SELDOM HEARD FARM has been inspected and certified organic every year since 1995. Our certifier, the OCPP/Pro-Cert Canada Inc. (OC/PRO Canada), also verifies that we surpass European and American organic standards, which enables us to sell our organic lamb, spelt and soya beans all over the world!

How much your bill is depends on how much lamb you buy. This is a straight-from-the-farm operation, so we sell by the half lamb or by the whole. We don't do single roast orders, etc. A half lamb typically weights eighteen pounds. Exact cost varies from lamb to lamb.
